The Wolves by Sarah Delappe

The Wolves by Sarah Delappe
Direction Tamara McCarthy
March 20-28, 2025 | Laura C. Muir Theatre
Welcome to suburban America. An indoor soccer field. Saturdays. Winter. As these 9 multi-faceted high school girls warm-up, prepping for a series of games, we get a glimpse into their personal lives, and the sh*t they really talk about. Their turf. Their terms. In this 2016 slice-of-life play, we witness them grapple with the world's issues: menstruation, politics, war, grief, anxiety, pop culture, relationships. Identified by the #s on the backs of their jerseys, how do they express their individuality while remaining committed 100 to the team and the group goal? Fierceness, Strength, Vulnerability, Bonds, Betrayals, Orange Slices. Meet the Wolves.
Content Warnings: Mature and sexual content, death, suicide, racism, ableism, and references to acts of genocide and torture.

Black Watch by Gregory Burke

Black Watch by Gregory Burke
Direction Deborah Neville
March 28-April 4, 2025 | Studio Theatre
Hurtling from a pool room in Fife to an armoured wagon in Iraq, Black Watch is based on interviews conducted by Gregory Burke with former soldiers who served in Iraq.
Viewed through the eyes of those on the ground, Black Watch reveals what it means to be part of the legendary Scottish regiment, what it means to be part of the war on terror and what it means to make the journey home again.
"This is not only an urgently topical piece about the sort of conflict soldiers have faced in Iraq and Afghanistan, about the changing nature of warfare, and about the morality of fighting; it is also a superb, multifaceted, political, and social drama. It explores the male psyche with sympathy and wit - by turns, comical, visceral, and surprisingly, lyrical." - Financial Times
Black Watch won over 22 awards between 2006 and 2009 including Best New Play at the 2009 Laurence Oliver Awards.
